MAYA COHEN

Leadership coach and Facilitator, LOTUS COACHING

I am a leadership coach and facilitator, supporting leaders at all levels across government, corporate, academic, and start-up industries.

With my support, clients expand their leadership capacity, improve performance, and achieve their desired results. I provide my clients with tools and frameworks, and partner with them to deepen their awareness, such that clients are able to strengthen relationships with others in their organization. Clients who work with me appreciate my direct approach and the ability to hold them accountable to their goals. As a result, my clients report feeling more balanced and productive, and have greater confidence in their ability to succeed in their roles and stay committed to their goals.

I have over a decade of experience in leadership development in higher ed, government and non-profit. I served as Chief Program Officer for a non-profit called TAMID Group, and was in charge of leadership development programming for over 4000 members. In that role, I designed and facilitated leadership development programs for emerging leaders, and trained staff to facilitate programs to hundreds of members worldwide. Topics include decision making tools, adult development, identifying values and mission statements, polarities, and more. Prior to that, I worked at the Israeli Embassy, creating partnerships with Universities across the US, and I also practiced law at Hamburger Evron law firm.

As a leadership coach, I served clients from USAID, Wayfair, Georgetown University, UPenn, Charity:Water and more, serving as their partner in achieving their goals, and bringing compassion and awareness to their day. I leverage my cross-cultural background, as well as my experience and passion for mindful self-compassion (MSC) and mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR), and polarity navigation, identifying values and mission statements, and improv.

I am a graduate of the Georgetown University Executive Coaching Certification Program, a member of the International Coaching Federation, and an Associate Certified Coach (ACC). I hold a Law Degree and a Masters degree in Business Administration, both from Hebrew University.

I live in Washington, DC with my husband Dylan, my daughter Amelia, and my two cats Spidey and Bug. In my free time I love hiking, yoga and meditation, and finding new attractions nearby.

“Maya has guided me toward practical ways to implement boundaries, self-compassion, and presence, and I feel so much more peaceful and productive.”
